Specifically, while at the Berlin Zoo, a 32-year-old woman named Mandy K jumped into the polar bear enclosure. To accomplish this, she had to scale a fence, navigate through a line of hedges, and climb over a wall. Notably, she entered the caged area while the bears were being fed.
As anticipated, one of the bears quickly attacked her, resulting in serious injuries and wounds from the powerful bites she received.
Fortunately, a zoo employee managed to scare the bear away and rescue Mandy.
She sustained severe injuries to her arm, leg, and back.
Currently, she is in the hospital recovering after undergoing surgery.
