Courtroom Erupts as Victim’s Sons Attack Their Mother’s Killer During Sentencing

A dramatic moment inside a courtroom in Mahoning County is once again going viral years after it first shocked viewers online.

The intense footage shows what happened during the sentencing hearing of Dale Williams Sr., who had pleaded guilty to the killing of his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart.

According to reports, the crime happened in 2017 after Williams allegedly rammed Pledger-Stewart’s vehicle off the road before fatally shooting her on a busy sidewalk. The case devastated the victim’s family and drew widespread attention in the community.

Years later, during the emotional sentencing hearing, the victim’s daughter began reading a statement describing the pain their family had endured since losing their mother.

That’s when the courtroom atmosphere suddenly changed.

Two of the victim’s sons — Anthony Dees and Jerome Stewart — rushed toward the defendant in a burst of emotion.

Video from the courtroom shows one brother leaping over a table and grabbing Williams, pulling him to the ground before the second brother joined in. Deputies quickly rushed in to separate them and restore order. During the struggle, one of the brothers was reportedly tased as officers worked to stop the confrontation.

Despite the chaotic interruption, the hearing eventually resumed. Williams was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for the killing.

The brothers were later charged with assault, obstructing official business, and contempt of court. However, the situation was ultimately handled with relatively short sentences, with each brother serving about 30 days in jail, acknowledging the emotional circumstances surrounding the outburst.

Even years later, the clip continues circulating online, with viewers debating the moment. Some say it was a reaction driven purely by grief, while others point out that courtrooms must remain controlled spaces regardless of the emotions involved.
