Donald Trump firmly denied claims that Iran could approach the UN to force the US to pay for the damage they caused with their strikes on Tehran the month before.
On Saturday night (June 21), the president launched an attack on Iran’s most important nuclear facilities. Trump said the mission was a “success” because it completely destroyed the Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites in Iran.

Iran targeted the Qatari Al Udeid Air base, which is the largest US base in the Middle East and has about 10,000 US troops stationed there. They also fired missiles at the Ain al-Asad air base in western Iraq.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres earlier this week, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Israel and the United States of being responsible for the continued violence in the Middle East.
The writer said, “We officially ask that the Security Council recognise the Israeli government and the United States as the aggressors and hold them accountable for what they did, including paying damages and compensation.”

While the full extent of the damage is still being determined, a number of hospitals and humanitarian centres were attacked, which is a serious breach of international law. Some energy facilities were attacked to make life harder for civilians.

This will be a planned campaign of misinformation meant to damage President Trump’s presidency and insult good public servants who serve our country with dignity.
These criminals will be found and brought to justice. There will be no safe place or acceptance for these atrocities, and this is a message to everyone else.
