Why Donald Trump looks shorter in photos as president sparks ‘body double’ conspiracy theory

Donald Trump faces new conspiracy theories as people analyze his latest trip to the Netherlands.

Trump is no stranger to conspiracy theories, but one of the oddest ones is him supposedly having a body double.

In fact, it isn’t just the President who has faced these conspiracies; his wife, Melania Trump, has also been accused of having a body double help her fulfil her duties as First Lady.

But those who buy into these theories around Trump have been reinvigorated following his trip to the Hague for a NATO summit in the Netherlands on the evening of June 24.

Other world leaders joined Trump, and it was described as ‘historic’ by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The groups took photographs together before enjoying a formal dinner.

However, one image has been circulating on social media, showing Trump appearing to look smaller than people expected when standing next to these leaders.

People on Twitter have been fanning the flames of these ‘body double’ conspiracies due to these images.

One user commented: “Obviously not the real one. Not tall enough. Loved the people noting he’s in multiple places at once.”

Another wrote: “That… that is not Trump.”

While a third added: “When I saw a video from earlier today I was wondering why he was so much shorter.”

Despite the ongoing conspiracy theory, the reasons why Trump could appear shorter are likely much more simple and less interesting.

Earlier this year, the 78-year-old was listed as 6 feet and 3 inches tall and weighed 224 pounds following his yearly physical.

In one picture, the 6ft 3in Trump is stood next to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, who is reportedly 6ft 2 inches, and President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is reportedly just over 6 ft.

However, Trump looks slightly smaller than Willem-Alexander and only slightly taller than Erdogan when he should be bigger than both.

One explanation is that Trump is the same height he has always been, the only difference being he is stood next to other tall men in general, making him appear smaller than usual.

Meanwhile, other sceptics of the conspiracy theory pointed out the fact the world leaders’ footwear may contribute to slight elevations or demotions in height, be that of Trump or those he took pictures with.

Some further noted that their posture as well as the angle of the photos being taken can also contribute to slight differences in height.

Similarly, if a person is further in the background, then the shorter they appear, while if they are in the foreground, then they’ll look a lot taller – it’s all about perspective.

Donald Trump has sparked a ‘body double’ conspiracy theory after people spotted a strange detail in a recent photograph.

The Trump family are no strangers to body double rumours.

After all, First Lady Melania Trump has been the subject of many ‘body double’ theories over the last few years, which claim that she has a stand-in to fulfil some elements of her role.

While the conspiracy theory has been circulating for years now, it picked up pace once again during last year’s election and after Trump was inaugurated at the start of this year as 47th president of the US.

But now, attention has turned to Trump himself, with some questioning whether he had used a body double at a recent appearance in the Netherlands.

On Tuesday evening (June 24), Trump – as well as other world leaders – gathered at The Hague for a NATO summit.

In what has been described as a ‘historic’ meeting by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the leaders could be seen standing for a photograph alongside King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, before enjoying a formal dinner.

But people were left baffled by one specific detail in the image.

One person on Twitter claimed that a ‘mini Trump’ had been sent to The Hague, instead of the president, referring to the fact that Trump appears shorter in the photos from the event.

“That… that is not Trump,” one person wrote.

While another said: “When I saw a video from earlier today I was wondering why he was so much shorter.”

And a third added: “Obviously not the real one. Not tall enough. Loved the people noting he’s in multiple places at once.”

Meanwhile, one user called it ‘creepy’.

Others were skeptical of the claims, as many pointed out that Trump seemed to look shorter because he was standing next to tall men.

“I think he just looks short here because the King of the Netherlands is 6’5. Let’s not get carried away,” said one.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands is reportedly 6ft 2in, meanwhile the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is said to be just over six foot.

And Trump himself is said to be taller than both, at 6ft 3in.

However, in the image circulated, he appears to look shorter than King Willem-Alexander and slightly taller than Erdoğan.

Of course, there’s likely to be an explanation for the difference in height, with many pointing out that the type of shoes being worn by each leader could contribute to variations.

Melania Trump has sparked a conspiracy theory after social media users became suspicious of her whereabouts on election day.

Hours before Donald Trump, 78, was confirmed to be the next president-elect of America, wife Melania, 54, appeared in West Palm Beach, Florida, to cast her vote.

But some people were baffled over one specific part of Melania’s outfit, with many assuming the soon-to-be first lady was using ‘a body double’.

On Wednesday morning (November 6), Trump claimed victory at the 2024 US election, after a win in Wisconsin pushed him over the line of 270 votes.

The former president had an overwhelming win across the country, with millions of Americans turning out to vote Republican.

And one person who also voted in the election was his wife Melania, who arrived at the polls with Trump by her side.

But social media users were confused over Melania’s sunglasses and why she had been ‘wearing them inside all day’.

One wrote: “This is absolutely, categorically not Melania. This imposter’s been wearing sunglasses indoors all day.”

While another said: “Am I crazy, or is that a fake Melania standing next to him?”

And a third added: “Donnie couldn’t find Melania today so he brought fake Melania.”

Meanwhile a fourth wrote: “I am cracking up, not fake Melania ! The real one isn’t even showing up for Election Day.”

Many pointed out that despite the amusing theory, they strongly believed it was Melania standing by Trump’s side.

“On this occasion, it’s definitely Melania,” wrote one person.

Declaring victory on Wednesday morning, Trump appeared on stage alongside his family, including Melania, son Barron, and daughter Ivanka.

Speaking to Paddy Power Games, body language expert Judi James explained that Melania appeared ‘powerful’ and ‘confident’ as she shared the stage with Trump.

“During [Trump’s] arrival on stage, he stepped out to pose, looking momentarily overwhelmed. While his right hand punched the air gently his face seemed puckered in a moment of inner emotion,” James explained.

“It was Melania, in a businesslike grey power suit and the towering Barron who flanked Trump exhibiting the body language signals of strength and support.”

According to James, it was Trump’s body language that gave a clear impression he ‘seeks support and strength’ from his wife who was ‘promoted to a star in her own right’ as she stood alongside her husband.

“Trump’s gesticulation and touch rituals with her gave the impression that he seeks support and strength from her rather than the other way round,” said James.

“While Trump opted to not bare his teeth in a smile, Melania was beaming with rounded cheeks of pride and delight and baring both upper and lower teeth in her smiles.”Featured Image Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

Donald Trump slammed for ‘psychopathic’ statement on why he left G7 early

The POTUS left the G7 summit a day early for what he said was ‘big stuff’

Donald Trump has been slammed for issuing a ‘psychopathic’ statement on why he left the G7 summit in Canada a day early.

The Group of Seven, a bloc made up of leaders from the US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK, have met up every year for the past five decades to discuss global economic governance and international security.

It’s a pretty big deal – so when the US president skipped out on the summit in Canada a day early on Monday (June 16), it made international headlines.

The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed Trump would be making his way back home after an official dinner with G7 leaders on Monday night but didn’t reveal why.

“Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with Heads of State,” she announced on Twitter.

The POTUS said he informed the summit host, Canada’s prime minister Mark Carney, of his early departure and that the group would understand.

“I have to be back as soon as I can,” he said. “I wish I could stay until tomorrow, but they understand, this is big stuff,” reports The Guardian.

His retreat meant he declined to participate in a joint G7 statement where leaders of the nations called for a ‘de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza.’

While the statement stopped short at calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, Trump signed off on the statement and urged residents in Iran’s capital, Tehran, to evacuate in a social media post before his departure.

Israel has been conducting strikes in Tehran since Thursday night, which so far has gone on without US involvement.

Now, the president is being accused of making a ‘psychopathic’ statement on Truth Social about his premature exit where he criticised the French president.

Trump wrote: “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘cease fire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong!

“He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!”

Dozens have since blasted the president’s premature exit from the G7 meeting and his post about Macron as ‘pathetic’ and ‘petty.’

“Insulting our allies again, after whining they won’t let Putin back into the G8,” said one, in reference to the fact the then G8 group booted the Russian president out in 2014 which Trump has said was a mistake.

A second added: “I thought Macron was being very generous in saying Trump was returning to try and broker a ceasefire. It made the [orange emoji] sound presidential. But he probably just wanted to play golf.”

Others questioned what could possibly have been more important to justify leaving the table if not for a ceasefire or peace deal.

His bizarre rant comes as Trump had told reporters before leaving Canada that Iran ‘want to make a deal, and as soon as I leave here, we’re going to be doing something. But I have to leave here.’

It now appears whatever mystery deal the POTUS was proposing has fallen through as in a subsequent post, Trump wrote: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life.

“Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”Featured Image Credit: Chip Somodevilla/Getty

Melania Trump sparks ‘body double’ conspiracy after people point out one thing during recent appearance

Viewers think Melania has been replaced

Melania Trump’s ‘body double’ conspiracy theory is back again after viewers spot something strange about her appearance whilst flying overseas with the president.

On April 25, Melania and Donald Trump were posted online by a X user who wanted to know what people could see when watching the married couple walk over grass and onto a helicopter.

Whilst some went on to say how good they looked, or happy they seemed to be, others brought up an old conspiracy theory which first began just before her husband took to office.

If you don’t know about it, it’s the ‘body double’ theory, which states that a stand-in was hired to fill in the role of Melania.

The first instance people think she was used was hours before Trump was confirmed to be the next president-elect of America.

It was when the 54-year-old appeared in West Palm Beach, Florida, to cast her vote and wore a particular outfit that fans believe she’d never be caught in.

It was on November 6 that Trump won the election, after his win in Wisconsin pushed him over 270 votes, with his wife also casting her own.

But when they saw Melania’s sunglasses that she had been ‘wearing them inside all day’, that’s when the theory started.

One person wrote online: “This is absolutely, categorically not Melania. This imposter’s been wearing sunglasses indoors all day.”

Another said: “Am I crazy, or is that a fake Melania standing next to him?”

Someone else added: “Donnie couldn’t find Melania today so he brought fake Melania.”

Even though it’s been a while now, the theory has been renewed because Melania was caught wearing flat shoes and an apparent ‘off-the-rack’ coat.

Call to Activism on X posted the video with the caption: “What do you notice about the way Trump and Melania just walked to the helicopter today?”

That’s when people let lose about their belief that Melania was an imposter that day.

One person shared: “Melania never wears flat shoes either…I’m betting that this is the fake body double Melania because the real Melania did not want to have to go and stay with Trump overseas for the entire trip…”

Another wrote: “Fake Melania.”

Someone else said: “I don’t notice how they walked to the helicopter, but from the back, that is not Melania or DJT, IMO. Melania wouldn’t wear an off-the-rack coat.”

Some even said that Melania wasn’t actually present at Pope Francis‘ funeral yesterday (April 26), and that again, it was a body double who took her place.

Do you want to know what the reason for this claim was? Because the First-Lady was wearing a black veil over her face, and so it could have been anyone.

However, her behavior at the funeral seems to match up with her personality.

While at the Vatican City, Trump apparently made a ‘seven-word comment’ to his wife, and Melania then apparently made an alleged suggestion to her husband regarding his etiquette not too long afterwords.
