According to witness accounts and surveillance footage, Daniel Reed, 32, intervened when he saw Jessica Moore step into a roadway while distracted by her phone. A vehicle was approaching at high speed, just seconds from impact. Reed grabbed Moore and pulled her back onto the sidewalk moments before the car passed, narrowly avoiding what authorities say could have been a serious or fatal accident.
Video evidence reportedly shows Reed releasing Moore immediately after moving her to safety. No further physical contact is visible.
Despite this, Moore later filed a formal complaint alleging sexual harassment, claiming that Reed’s actions were inappropriate and violated her personal space. Her legal representatives argue that even in emergency situations, physical contact without consent can constitute a violation, and that individuals do not have the automatic right to touch another person.
Reed says he is stunned by the allegations.
“I saw a car coming and reacted,” he told associates. “I believed she was about to be hit. I never thought twice—I just acted.”
